Mac OS X 10.4, code named Tiger, could be officially announced as early as April 1st, and be in the shops by April 15th. Think Secret claim the announcement will be broadcast around the world via satelite, although the location of the event still isn't known.

Only yesterday AppleInsider reported that build number 8A414 has been seeded to developers and looks close to being declared Gold Master in preparation of a commercial launch. There have even been reports of wrap partys and developers going on holiday. So it looks as though all the work has been done.

I for one can't wait. The previews look great, and I did tell myself that I wasn't going to buy it, but I can't resist it. Here's hoping this isn't some sick April fools joke!
