Apple move to Intel.
Steve Jobs has just made it official - Apple will be abandoning IBM and the PowerPC chips it uses in it's computers in favour of *choke* Intel *choke*. This doesn't mean, however, that Mac OS X will be able to run on any PC, it will still be limited to Macs - although, I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
Interestingly, Steve made it know that for the past five years Mac OS X has been leading a double life. In some secret lab somewhere in America, Apple developers have been running an Intel based version of the operating system - apparently as a "just in case" fail safe. Expect to see all Macs using Intel chips by early 2007.
